Swimming
About 50 swimming coaches work with about 1,000 swimmers in modern swimming pools in all regions of the country, in the city of Arkadag, and in our capital, Ashgabat. Turkmen athletes have been regularly participating in this sport at world championships since 2001, at the Summer Olympic Games since 2004, and at the Asian Games since 2006.
For the first time in our country, an international swimming tournament was held in 2007 at the Turkmenbashi Olympic Aquatic Complex in Ashgabat. In 2017, the Inspiring Ashgabat International Tournament (short course) and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games were successfully held at the Olympic Village in Ashgabat.
